Ronnie led 12-4 after the whitewash in this mornings session which included breaks of 93, 44, 57, 87, 133, 135, 85 and 70. In
this kind of form it's hard to see anybody beating this man and he turned the screw on Hendry by compiling a superb 126 in the first frame tonight. Hendry however fought back with breaks of 85 and 54 but
O'Sullivan was not in the mood to have to play on Saturday and took the next four frames with breaks of 68, 123, 56 and 59 although the last frame was handed to him on a sliver platter with Hendry hanging
the final black over the pocket and conceding.
The other semi final saw Ali Carter come back from 5-3 down overnight to lead Joe Perry 9-7 by the end of today's play.
Carter won five frames on the spin to take an 8-5 lead but Perry took the next two with a superb 127 along the way. Carter though took the final frame of the night with a great 128 break and takes a small
lead into tomorrow's play.
The spare session tomorrow will now see an exhibition between some of World Snooker's current and ex-professional to
entertain the crucible crowd who had paid to see the final session between Hendry and O'Sullivan.
