The event was played like the senior pot black title with a one frame shootout and the eight youngsters did themselves proud under pressure. The first match saw England's Ryan
Clark defeat Scotland's Ross Higgins 44-30 and then Devaney stepped up to defeat many's favorite for the event in Sam Craigie. Sam's older brother Stephen has recently won a nomination for the WSA Main Tour and many
tip Sam to follow in his footsteps.
However it was Devaney's day to shine today and he then beat Clark 70-42 to qualify for the final on Thursday. The other half saw England's Kishan Kotecha beat Northern
Ireland's Declan Brennan 60-52 and Dwayne Jones knock in a superb 69 to defeat Eden Sharav. Jones then overcame Kotecha to progress and set up a rematch with Devaney after his defeat in the recent Pontins 15's
event where Devaney won 3-0.
Foul4's own PJ Nolan is in Sheffield helping Devaney prepare for the event after coaching him for the past few months since he returned home from Qatar. Devaney works off all PJ's
coaching workbooks and has improved dramatically winning the Irish Under-16 Championships this season.
