David completes the family double

22.12.2008

David Hogan completed a successfully weekend for himself and his younger brother Tom by picking up an Irish Under-21 Ranking Event win in Galway on Sunday. Tom had just won the Under-14's the day before and David defeated Cork's Tony Moore 3-0 in the final to go back to the top of the Irish Rankings.

This was the second event of the season in Ireland with the Top 3 qualifying for the World Under-21's in Perth next summer and Hogan ran out an easy winner this time round after slipping up in the first event.

The Nenagh youngster overcame Tony Moore in the final with ease but Moore impressed in the early rounds seeing off Stephen Reddington, Andrew Gray and Keith McGibney to reach the final. McGibney had caused the shock of the early rounds beating No.1 seed Greg Casey in the last 16.

Moore also picked up the high break with an effort of 95.
