David Grace overcame Nigel Bond 5-1 to take the Pontins Open title today. The towering English International from Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds came through a superb field of over 300
players to take the title and the £4,000 first prize. Also with World Snooker due to start making announcements regarding Wild Cards soon this may throw David's name into the hat. |

Grace started the event in the Last 256 round where he rattled off wins against Jak Jones, Mitchell Mann, Anthony Fletcher, Lee Farebrother to reach the Last 16. The Last 16 saw David up against
professional Matthew Couch but a 4-2 win saw him though to the quarters where he beat Paul McHugh. The semi's saw Jamie Cope fall by the wayside as Grace reached the final to face Bond who had to concede an 18 point start to
Grace. Grace nicked a close first frame before knocking in a superb 103 in the second frame. The third saw a 44 break be enough to go 3-0 ahead and it was 4-0 soon after thanks to a 68 which
with a start of 18 is enough to win any frame. Bond managed a 50 break in the next but Grace closed out the match in the 6th to take the title with ease.
