Ali had a number of small breaks and took the opening frame 76-29. Although the Iraqi leveled the score with 66-15 to win the second frame, Ali came back strongly with a
84-14 score in the third frame with 60-58 and 52-30 to complete the victory.
"I am very happy with the victory, especially as it came at home with a lot of Qatari supporters cheering on" said al-Obaidly, reacting to his triumph.
"I tried to control myself and my opponent in the final and I am very proud of the way I approached the whole event. I hope this is only the start of the titles that I can win for the Qatar federation".
Muburak Al Hajari - Qatar Federation Board Member told foul4 - "Ali did fantastic and this is just what we needed for junior snooker in Qatar". He hopes now that more
juniors will now play snooker and attempt to follow in Ali's footsteps.
